The light, mauve-blue tepals have a deeply textured surface which make them appear almost mottled. There is also a blue-violet shading along the central bar. The four broad tepals taper via crimped, undulating margins to lightly recurved tips.

- History: Raised by Brother Stefan Franczak in 1967 and named after a young female officer killed during the 1830 Polish uprising against Russian occupation. Amelia Plater became a symbol of women fighting for Polish independence.
