An impressive clematis producing an abundance of large single or semi-double pale-blue flowers with a contrasting boss of yellow stamens on a vine growing 2.5 to 3.5m in height. Named after the director responsible for Pennell's Grimsby nursery in 1962 it has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding attributes.
